Entry-level automation for molecular assays

4 May 2023

Liquid handling is the most basic task in any molecular workflow. There are many systems on the market to handle liquids; from manual single channel pipettes to automated liquid handlers (or robotic workstations) of various levels of complexity. Since molecular workflows involve complex, lengthy and expensive processes, they are often performed using automated liquid handlers. The sample preparation steps for these workflows can be automated, at least partially, in small, user-friendly entry-level automated systems. These systems are particularly attractive due to their small footprint, ease of use and affordable price. In this eBook, Hamilton discusses the benefits of entry-level liquid handlers and their place in the evolution of pipetting systems and technologies, how the steps of typical molecular workflows can be automated, and the entry-level automated systems that Hamilton offers to molecular researchers, new to automation.
