Evaluation of a Direct HbA1c Assay on a Fully Automated Chemistry Analyzer Versus Two Common HPLC Methods

Pointe Scientific has developed a latex-enhanced immunotubidimetric assay that directly measures the percentage of HbA1c in whole blood. This study details an evaluation of the performance of this direct HbA1c assay on the Hitachi 917 chemistry analyzer, in comparison to a Tosoh G8 and a Bio-Rad Variant II (HPLC methods) at a large commercial lab.
