Evaluation of Micro-Fibers Utilizing Microspectroscopy

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) is a non-destructive method for identifying microscopic fibers and providing detailed visual microscopic information. This application note describes how Specac’s SurveyIR technology, utilizing FT-IR microspectroscopy, proves to be a useful tool in identifying and interrogating small fibers and provides an effective, easy to use toolset for forensic examiners.
