Exploratory Urinary Metabolomics Study of Type 1 Leprosy Reactions in Nepal

19 Aug 2015

Leprosy is a contagious, infectious disease initiated by Mycobacterium leprae (M. leprae) and often resulting in severe, life-long disabilities that presents with different clinico-pathological forms. Presented in this scientific poster is an exploratory metabolomics study of a prospective longitudinal cohort recruited in Nepal during 2008-2013, in an attempt to identify associations between urinary metabolic patterns and leprosy with or without reactions. Urine samples were analysed by UHPLC-ESI-TOF MS, Bruker Daltonics.
