High Purity Water for Environmental Analyses

1 Apr 2013

Environmental analyses of drinking water are performed for a wide range of contaminants. The reagents used for these, as well as the water used for blanks and dilutions, must be free of these compounds. This application note describes three analytical methods commonly used in the environmental field; Total Oxidizable Carbon (TOC), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AA). The usefulness of ultrapure water for preparing blanks and dilutions is assessed.
