High-Resolution Accurate Mass Multi-Reflecting Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry Utilized to Facilitate Metabolite Identification
25 Mar 2011In this application note urine samples are analyzed using Mass Multi-Reflecting Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry. A single dose of an over-the-counter pharmaceutical preparation containing 6.5 mg doxylamine, 15 mg dextromethorphan, and unspecified PEG and other excipients was administered to a healthy volunteer. A control urine sample was collected immediately prior to dosing, and an overnight urine sample was collected about eight hours later. Salt and protein was removed from each sample. A 1.0 mL aliquot of the clear supernatant was evaporated, reconstituted with 0.025 mL methanol, and 0.10 mL water with 0.1% formic acid, and analyzed.
