High Throughput Data Independent Approach for Qualitative and Quantitative Lipidomic Analysis

High Throughput Data Independent Approach for Qualitative and Quantitative Lipidomic Analysis

16 Dec 2015

Numerous studies have demonstrated the biological importance of lipid metabolism in energy storage, cell membrane structure and signaling. Changes in the abundances of lipids can closely correlate to progression of numerous conditions such as cancer, neurodegeneration, and metabolic diseases. Mass spectrometry (MS) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) are propitious for direct analysis of global qualitative and quantitative lipid metabolism profiling. The Infusion MS/MSALL Workflow, a data-independent acquisition (DIA) strategy like SWATH™ Acquisition, for lipid molecular characterization, enables in-depth analysis by shotgun direct infusion of lipid extracts in high throughput qualitative and quantitative screening mode. This poster demonstrates how, combined with automated sample analysis and dedicated data processing strategies, large sample sets can be analyzed with streamlined automation.
