Identification and Sizing of Exosomes and Microvesicles by Raman Micro-Spectroscopy Combined with Tunable Resistive Pulse Sensing

20 May 2015

To study the role of vesicles under physiological and pathological conditions and to employ vesicles as biomarkers for disease, the size, concentration and cellular origin is preferably measured of single vesicles. This application note describes the use of a hybrid TRPS Raman micro-spectroscopy setup for sizing vesicles down to 100 nm. Additionally the first Raman spectrum of a single platelet derived vesicles is presented.
