Label-free Screening of Human Autoimmune Diseases

Label-free Screening of Human Autoimmune Diseases

10 Dec 2015

Autoimmune diseases are caused by an immune response of the organism against its own cells and tissues as it does not recognize them as own constituent parts. One example for an autoimmune disease is the Hughes syndrome (antiphospholipid syndrome, APS). Hughes syndrome is derived from antibodies against cell-membrane phospholipid (aPL) resulting in thrombosis and complications during pregnancy like stillbirth, pre-term delivery, miscarriage or pre-eclampsia. This application note demonstrates the detection of specifically serological autoimmune antibodies using the Berthold Technologies bScreen with Biametrics 1lambda-RIDe technology.
