Magnetic 3D Cell Culturing – A Simple and Effective Technology with a Wide Range of Applications

Cell culture is an essential tool in drug discovery, tissue engineering, stem cell research, as well as in basic research. The limitations of typical 2D monolayer cell culture have led to the development of in vitro 3D cell culture technique designed to provide a more physiologically relevant cellular environment that can potentially improve accuracy in research and drug discovery. Here, an effective tool for 3D cell culture is described: the magnetic levitation method and magnetic bioprinting.
