Methane Detection in a Wastewater Treatment Plant

7 Nov 2018

The wastewater treatment plant of Seine Amont is dealing with the city of Paris wastewater’s. This plant has the particularity to produce biogas. At each stage of water cleaning, specific waste called sludge are recovered. This sludge is integrated into a digester in order to produce biogas resulting from the fermentation. This digester has a safety system to monitor the pressurization. In case of overpressure, digester degas a mixture (65% of methane, plus CO2, H2S and other compounds) with a debit of 400 m3/h.
