Near-Infrared Analysis of Polyols

15 Apr 2013

This application note describes a fast, nondestructive, and reliable near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) method for the determination of the hydroxyl number in polyols. Results are available in real-time for which reason NIRS is highly suited for in-process quality control. Second-derivative spectra and linear least-squares regression provide results that match very well with those obtained by titration.
