Neurology 4-Plex A - A Multiple Sclerosis Study

14 Dec 2018

The Quanterix Simoa HD-1 Analyzer uses digital ELISA to achieve unprecedented sensitivity when measuring cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood biomarkers associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an autoimmune disease characterized by demyelination of the central nervous system that eventually results in permanent disability. This study explored the correlation of disease severity in patients with RRMS, which accounts for more than 85% of the types of MS, with ultrasensitive measurements of human Tau protein, neurofilament light protein (NFLight), glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), and ubiquitin carboxyl terminal hydrolase L1 (UCH-L1).
