New Research Evaluating Cisplatin Uptake in Ovarian Cancer Cells by Single Cell ICP-MS

11 May 2017

Cisplatin is one of the most widely used platinum-based cancer chemotherapy drugs. Its effectiveness is due to its ability to bind to the cancers DNA, resulting in DNA-platinum adducts, which bends the DNA, resulting in a lack of DNA replication. Despite initial success, cisplatin drug resistance is common in relapse. This application note describes how SC-ICP-MS can be used to explore cellular uptake of cisplatin at the single cell level.
