Optimized Analysis of 1,4-Dioxane in Tap Water by GC/MS Using a Zebron ZB-624 GC Column

Dioxane is a highly water soluble and potentially harmful product of multiple industrial processes, that is resistant to naturally occurring biodegradation processes. Due to the growing concern over its negative effects on health and the environment, there has been a global increase in dioxane testing. This application note details a working method for sample preparation and analysis using the EPA 522 extraction procedure followed by GC/MS.
