Optimizing and scaling up the development process for flexible nanoparticles and synthetic nanomaterials

16 Jul 2023

In this application note, Particle Works showcases the potential of nanomedicine in drug delivery. It explores the use of synthetic nanomaterials, such as liposomes, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), and polymer nanoparticles, to enhance the solubility, stability, and bioavailability of various active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). These nanomaterials can improve API transport across cell membranes and extend in vivo circulation time, thereby enhancing the efficacy and safety of APIs.

To accommodate the diverse physiochemical properties of APIs, a flexible nanoparticle generation process is crucial. The Automated Nanoparticle (ANP) System from Particle Works offers an automated microfluidic approach. It enables the development and optimization of milliliter-scale nanoparticle synthesis protocols for different material types and particle structures. Additionally, the ANP System has the capability to manufacture nanoparticles continuously in multi-liter quantities for pre-clinical testing purposes.
