Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers: Environmental Contaminants of Concern

16 Jul 2017

Brominated flame retardants (BFRs) include a large number of different types of brominated substances, used in a large number of polymers and textiles to prevent ignition. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers are a class of BFR similar to well-known environmental contaminants such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). This application note discusses the presence of PDBEs as environmental contaminants in the ecosystem.
