Potency Testing in Cannabis Extracts Using a High Throughput Method

Cannabis analysis has gained new importance in the USA since the legalization of marijuana in several states. Cannabis contains a number of alkaloids, referred to as cannabinoids, that are of interest to scientists. The potency of cannabis is characterized by the concentrations of different cannabinoids in any given sample. This application note highlights a high throughput HPLC method for the determination of cannabis extract potency using the Shimadzu Cannabis Analyzer for Potency. This method allows for the determination of the most commonly requested cannabinoids in under 8 minutes.
