Preservation and Quantification of Hormones in Surface Water

This application note describes the use of different preservatives (sodium azide, hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid) to inhibit the degradation of hormones in samples of surface water runoff from cattle manure-amended fields during storage at 4^oC. Hormone and hormone metabolite levels were determined using HPLC tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
