Rapid Analysis of Pesticides in Difficult Matrices using GC/MS/MS

This application note describes the analytical methodology for a fast multi-residue pesticide determination in a difficult matrix (fruit jam), using the QuEChERS extraction/clean-up procedure in combination with the TSQ Quantum XLS™ GC-MS/MS system. Pesticides are widely used in agriculture to protect crops and improve efficiency of production. Consequently, there is a need for fast, cheap and sensitive analytical methods, for example QuEChERS. However, QuEChERS is not amenable for GC/MS, which is required when samples are less polar and semi-volatile, so cannot be analyzed using standard LC-MS.
