Rapid Isolation of Geraniin from Nephelium lappaceum Rind Waste Using the Gilson GX‐281 Preparative HPLC Purification System

6 Oct 2011

This application note describes the results of the isolation of Geraniin using preparative HPLC. Geraniin has been previously shown to be an ideal candidate for the management of hyperglycemia in diabetic individuals due to its ability to reduce free-radicals. In this study Geraniin was found to be the major compound isolated from the rind of an ethanolic extract of N. Lappaceum. A rapid and mid‐scale purification of geraniin was achieved.
