Rapid Quality Control of the Traditional Remedy “Chinese Goldthread” by FT-IR Spectrometry

This application note demonstrates that FT-IR can be a simple and powerful method for quality control of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). In contrast to methods relying on a single marker compound, FT-IR allows discrimination between similar herbs – such as the three berberine-containing herbs considered here.
