Relevance of HLA to cancer immunotherapy

19 Oct 2020

To defend the body against threats, evolution developed the highly complex immune system with hundreds of molecular players and various cell types. This scientific poster provides an overview of the basics, as well as translational knowledge, of cancer immunotherapy.

This poster will cover:

  • The genetic structure of the human leukocyte antigen complex on chromosome 6
  • The distinction between major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I and class II proteins
  • An in-depth illustration of T cell activation by antigen-presenting cells (APCs)
  • Application of that knowledge in cancer immunotherapy
