Removal of Phospholipids from Protein Precipitated Biological Fluid Samples, for LC-MS/MS Analysis

1 Oct 2018

Phospholipids (PL) are present in many biological samples, including blood and cerebral spinal fluid. However, they are notorious for co-extracting with a broad range of analytes and therefore compromising LC-MS-based analyses. They can cause ion supression, ion enhancement, and even limit the lifespan of reversed phase columns. This application note demonstrates how HybridSPE® phospholipid technology has been developed for selective and rapid PL depletion.
