SEC-MALS and CG-MALS: Complementary techniques to characterize protein-DNA complexes

29 Jan 2024

In this whitepaper, Waters | Wyatt Technology introduce the characterization of protein-DNA complexes using two complementary multi-angle light scattering (MALS) techniques. The first method combines MALS with size exclusion chromatography (SEC-MALS) and protein conjugate analysis to measure the overall complex molar mass and fraction of DNA. The second technique, composition-gradient MALS (CG-MALS), is employed to quantify the stoichiometry and affinity at each binding site during complex formation.
