Separation of Fucosylated, non-Fucosylated and Complex Carbohydrates Associated with Monoclonal Antibodies using Capillary Electrophoresis

3 Dec 2012

In order to gain a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic monoclonal antibody function, it is necessary to characterize the associated glycosylation. This application note from Beckman Coulter presents a method that enables fucosylated, afucosylated, sialylated and complex antennary oligosaccharides to be differentiated from one another. The work suggests that capillary electrophoresis can be used to successfully separate and quantify a wide array of N-linked oligosaccharides associated with monoclonal antibodies.
