Separation of Urine Catecholamine Metabolites by HILIC

This application note highlights the difficulties faced in the separation of Catecholamines due to their polar nature. Hydrophilic Interaction Liquid Chromatography (HILIC) provides suitable retention of the metabolites in question. Comparison of HILIC stationary phases shows differing retention and sensitivity. HILIC‘s high concentration of organic modifier and simple modifiers allows the full advantages of MS as a detection technology.
