Simultaneous Non-Destructive Measurements of Internal Quality Indicators in Blackberry (Rubus spp.)

Using traditional methodology, sugar and acid content measurements are destructive and time-consuming. To determine effectiveness and viability of the F-750 Produce Quality Meter for simultaneous, non-destructive measurements of TSS and TA in blackberries, a modeling study was conducted on 75 blackberries. The results show that the F- 750 Produce Quality Meter precisely and non-destructively measures TSS and TA in blackberries, with a calculated root mean square error of prediction of 0.18 TSS and 0.05 TA.
