Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT) into Mouse Oocytes Using Eppendorf PiezoXpert®

15 Jan 2015

Since the birth of the first cloned animal, Dolly, the world famous sheep, mammalian cloning by somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) has been successfully performed in many species. Compared to farm species, cloning of rodents is harder to achieve, since the oocytes of rodent species and particularly of mouse are smaller and more fragile. This application note demonstrates how mouse SCNT can be achieved using the Eppendorf PiezoXpert, the latest advance in piezo drilling largely free of lateral oscillations.
