Specific Surface Area Measurement of Intact Lyophilized Cakes

This application note demonstrates the use of a prototype lyophilization vial holder apparatus in the non-destructive, intact lyophilized cake testing of surface area. This study illustrates how the manipulation of samples can affect surface area measurement by approximately 35 - 55%.
