Using the GX‐271 ASPEC™ for Automated Extraction of Hop Acids (Iso Alpha Acids and Organic Acids) in Beer

This application note describes the automated extraction of Hop acids by Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) for the brewing industry. Performing SPE prior to HPLC analysis of Iso‐Alpha Acids, Alpha Acids, Beta Acids, and Organic Acids is shown to be necessary to extend column life and remove particulates that could interfere with other analyses. SPE is a requirement prior to other analyses in beer such as for Free Fatty Acids, Sugars, Mycotoxins (OTA ‐ ZON), Resveratrol and Piceid, and Phytoestrogens.
