Utilization of Multi-Reflecting Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry to Characterize Innovator and Generic Forms of Cold Medicine with Multiple Active Ingredients

26 Mar 2011

In this application poster over-the-counter cold medications are examined by LC with high performance MS on a novel Folded Flight Path™ platform on which high speed acquisition is possible without loss of key information. The capabilities of high performance mass spectrometry in this role is investigated. The analysis and characterization of pharmaceutical dosage forms presents many analytical challenges including time and information content. UHPLC-MS has become the most common tool for the identification of impurities and degradants and the characterization of dosage forms.
