The Skin Factory – Automated Tissue Culture

Watch this video to learn about an innovative system for culturing human tissue developed by the Fraunhofer Institute, and using the BRANDplates® cell culture Insert System. Comprised of 3 automated, biologically controlled modules, the factory can produce 3 layered skin samples for cosmetic, chemical and pharmaceutical assessment and impact analyses. Hear how it is hoped such skin and tissue factories could one day be used to grow replacement organs for human transplant.
