Are you risking safety in the lab with “permissible” exposure allowed in antiquated PEL standards

Continuous exposure to chemical emissions is known to impact our short- and long-term health significantly. While there are benchmarks known as Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL’s), these benchmarks are woefully outdated. The TSCA, or EPA’s Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL’s), are more recently updated but they too are not enough to ensure health and well-being within the workplace. Aside from the EPA and OSHA, ACGIH and NIOSH have established recommendations that are much more conservative and should be considered during your companies’ risk management policies.

In this webinar, Jesse Coiro, Director of Health & Healthcare at Erlab, will discuss several solutions and additional safety measures you can implement to reduce exposure risks. Coiro will highlight a way to treat a chemical throughout its life cycle with proper engineered controlled systems to better improve safety within your laboratory.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • How to put typical engineered controlled systems in place – how they work and how can they be improved
  • How filtration can work together with current engineered controlled systems to improve safety within the lab.
  • Holistic approaches to safety from the moment a chemical enters the lab throughout the complete lifecycle, reducing exposure limits.
  • Standards in place to enhance safety with filtration

Who Should Attend?

  • Lab managers
  • Lab directors
  • Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) departments.
  • Lab technicians
  • Facilities directors
