Endogenous steroid analysis from pregnanes to mineralocorticoids to sex steroids
This webinar will provide an overview for successful steroid analysis from biological samples by HPLC/MS/MS. Expected steroid concentrations will be discussed, including basal levels across species (human, monkey, rat, etc.), sex and sample type, animal handling procedures, and the impact of disease states and pharmaceutical intervention. Planning for the best analytical approach will be discussed in detail, from determining one vs. multiple methods, hardware performance and sensitivity requirements, derivatization, and specificity and matrix effects. When to use which sample preparation approaches will also be discussed, including PPT, LLE, SLE, and SPE, methods for extracting from tissue, and the impact of the container material. The discussion will wrap up with data review and interpretation to help you determine what your data means!
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
