How to achieve consistent results with automated cultivation workflows

August 26, 2025, at 14:00 BST / 15:00 CEST / 09:00 EDT / 06:00 PDT

Automation in cultivation and bioprocessing is transforming the way researchers and manufacturers approach biotherapeutic development. By reducing manual intervention, minimizing variability, and enabling real-time process monitoring, automation supports faster development timelines, improved product quality, and more robust scale-up strategies.

Register now to learn how to integrate automation into your workflow with insights from Dieter Wagner, Product Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Dr. Wouter Duetz, CEO of Enzyscreen B.V. Together, they will explore how automated shaking incubators and specialized microtiter plates and lids can help optimize aeration and mixing, increase accuracy, and enhance productivity in bioprocessing.

Key learning objectives

  • Explore the latest advancements in bioprocessing with cutting-edge technologies.
  • Learn about how the Cytomat 2 Selector and Cytomat 2 Tower Shaker Automated Incubator provide superior precision, results, and high-throughput handling.
  • Understand how Enzyscreen microplates and lids work alongside innovative lab automation technology to drive productivity.
  • Discover how you can enhance reproducibility and efficiency in your research, development, and production processes.

Who should attend

  • Lab automation integration partners, scientists, lab technicians
  • Automation engineers and scientists in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals

Speakers

Dieter Wagner
Dieter Wagner
Product Manager of Cytomat, Thermo Fisher Scientific

Dieter Wagner studied at the THM Friedberg where he gained his degress in automation. Since then, Wagner has worked in different industries (vacuum technology, semiconductor and organic materials) which formed his interest in biotechnology. He then joined the Cytomat product group at Thermo Scientific and has been the Product Manager of Cytomat since 2013.

Dr. Wouter A. Duetz
Dr. Wouter A. Duetz
CEO, Enzyscreen B.V.

Dr. Wouter Duetz studied physics, chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology at the University of Amsterdam before working for 10 years on oxygenases involved in the microbiological degradation of aromatic pollutants. In the subsequent 5 years, he has lectured on enzymology and biotechnology at the ETH Zurich and lead a research group focused on high-throughput screening for new biocatalysts. In 2002, he founded Enzyscreen, which is now fully specialized in microtiter plate-based cultivation systems.
