MDRO diagnostics: The challenges of today and tomorrow
Interested in performing best-in-class multidrug-resistant organism (MDRO) testing and learning more about small colony variants (SCVs), potential pitfalls in resistance automation reporting, and recent changes to testing guidelines?
This webinar is for all medical laboratory staff that test for MDROs and are interested in re-validating their practical knowledge, including expert views on how different labs are testing, resistance mechanism detection, limitations on routine workflow, and therapeutic consequences. The newest changes in the taxonomy and diagnostics due to the recent descriptions of novel members of the so-called S. aureus complex will also be introduced. Furthermore, the genetics of methicillin resistance will be updated and implications of the MRSA diversity on susceptibility testing will be discussed.
Key learning objectives
- Diagnostics for carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE)
- Diagnostics for methicillin-resistant Staphylococci
- Pitfalls in the diagnostics for CRE, MRSA
- What's new? Guidelines, regulations, etc.
Who should attend?
- Mainly clinical lab staff; technicians, supervisors, and lab managers, but also veterinary and food safety lab staff
Certificate of attendance
All webinar participants can request a certificate of attendance, including a learning outcomes summary, for continuing education purposes.
