Spatially offset Raman spectroscopy: Identifying packaged raw materials

Identification (ID) testing of raw materials typically involves quarantining, container verification and clean-up, in-booth container opening, and sampling/scanning, followed by data review to complete the process. One must not tackle just the chemistry tests involved but the entire protocol in order to save time and costs when carrying out ID tests on raw materials.

In this webinar, Frederic Prulliere, Raman ID Product Manager at Agilent Technologies, will describe how Agilent uses patented spatially offset Raman spectroscopy (SORS) to enable ID testing of raw materials directly in quarantine. This method requires no sampling or opening of containers, therefore, reducing the time and costs associated with ID testing of packaged raw materials.

Key learning objectives

  • Understand how raw material identity verification through transparent and non-transparent containers removes the need for sampling and increases testing throughput without increasing costs
  • Learn how the Vaya system, with true through-barrier SORS technology, works through most common containers – from clear glass vials, to multilayer paper sacks
  • Understand how the Vaya system can improve current testing protocols – from low volume sampling to 100% ID testing
  • Learn how to streamline an identification process with Vaya
