The gut microbiome: Basics, opportunities and establishing new pipeline conditions

The gut microbiome is the collective genome of the intestinal flora and represents the totality of microorganisms present in the gut. Scientific studies show a correlation between the composition of the microbiome and various diseases, e.g., obesity or depression. In the course of the development of next-generation DNA sequencing, the microbiome became fully measurable for the first time and this is increasingly becoming a trend in medicine.

The automation of DNA extraction from stool samples is the first step to reduce analysis costs, increase throughput and thus make the medical benefits of microbiome analysis available to the general public. This webinar will cover a basic introduction to the gut microbiome and the development of an improved diagnostic pipeline.

Who Should Attend
Physicians, therapists and scientists interested in gut microbiome research/clinical diagnostics
