Description

EGC is a granule preparation from a substance P-producing carcinoid in the ileum. The EGC-antiserum recognizes most endocrine cells in the gut and the pancreas. The EGC-antiserum is a powerful tool in revealing the endocrine nature of tumors. Gastroentero-pancreatic endocrine tumors, medullary carcinoma of the thyroid and bronchial carcinoids are stained positive with the antiserum. Works on routinely processed specimens
