Description
Goat Anti-Human Lipoprotein a polyclonal antibody for Turbidimetry. This product recognizes human Apolipoprotein(a), also known as Apo(a), and is the main constituent of Lipoprotein(a). Apolipoprotein(a) demonstrates serine proteinase activity and inhibits tissue-type plasminogen activator 1. Elevated plasma concentrations of Apolipoprotein(a) and its naturally occurring proteolytic fragments are correlated with atherosclerosis. Homology with plasminogen kringles IV and V is thought to underlie the atherogenicity of the protein, because the fragments are competing with plasminogen for fibrin(ogen) binding.
