Description
Pituitary adenylate cyclase activating peptide (PACAP), originally isolated from ovine hypothalamus, belongs to the VIP-family of peptides. PACAP-related peptide (PRP) is a 29-amino acid peptide, which is produced together with PACAP-27 and PACAP-38 when PreproPACAP is being processed. PRP is abundant in the brain, but can be also found in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts
