Description
b2-microglobulin is a 12-14 kDa subunit of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I. b2-microglobulin is a non-polymorphic molecule and is not involved in peptide binding but is essential for MHC assembly. b2-microglobulin is also found in free form in the plasma. MHC class I is expressed on most nucleated cells in the caiman, including the red blood cells. This antibody reacts with free as well as MHC class I associated b2-microglobulin.
