BRD3 (Bromodomain Containing 3) is a member of the mammalian BET (Bromodomain Extra Terminal) family of proteins, binds hyperacetylated chromatin and has been reported to interact with acetylated Histone H4K5, Histone H4K12 and Histone H3K14. It plays a role in the regulation of transcription, probably by chromatin remodeling and interaction with transcription factors. Regulates transcription by promoting the binding of the transcription factor GATA1 to its targets (By similarity). Regulates transcription of the CCND1 gene.
