Description
Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase type II subunit beta (CaMK-II beta) is a prominent kinase in the central nervous system that functions in long-term potentiation and neurotransmitter release. A member of the NMDAR signaling complex in excitatory synapses, CaMK-II beta regulates NMDAR-dependent potentiation of synaptic plasticity.
