Description
The IgGFc low affinity receptor (FCγRIII) is known to be expressed as an integral membrane protein (FcγRIIIA) and as a glycosyl-phosphatidyl inositol (GPI)-anchored protein (FcγRIIIB). These two isoforms, encoded by two different, although linked genes, have extracellular amino-acidic sequences differing by six amino acids and show specific tissue distributions. FcγRIIIB protein defines the CD16b cluster.
