Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to collagen IV also known as collagen alpha1 chain whose expression can be detected in the endocervix and dura mater but it is highly expressive in the placenta and arm muscle. It is found in the basement membrane. Type IV collagen is the major structural component of glomerular basement membranes (GBM); forming a 'chicken-wire' meshwork together with laminins; proteoglycans and entactin/nidogen. This protein is extensively involved in the extracellular matrix constituent conferring elasticity and its structural constituent.
