Description
Arginine methylation is an important post-translational modification that occurs predominantly in the nucleus. Arginine methylation is catalyzed by the PRMT/CARM family of methyltransferases, and occurs on a wide range of proteins. This list of proteins includes histones, transcription factors and chromatin regulators such as the HAT enzymes, strongly linking arginine methylation to transcriptional activation.
