Rabbit polyclonal antibody to ECP; which is also known as RNASE3 and RAF1. ECP is a protein frequently found in the matrix of acidophil large specific granule and is expressed in the hematopoietic bone marrow of blood and oviduct of the ovary. It is overexpressed in neutrophils. It possesses a wide variety of biological activities and also exhibits antibacterial activity; including cytoplasmic membrane depolarization of preferentially Gram-negative; but also Gram-positive strains. Promotes E.coli outer membrane detachment; alteration of the overall cell shape and partial loss of cell content.
