Fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3 or CD333) is a receptor for acidic and basic fibroblast growth factors, preferentially binding FGF1. FGFR3 is expressed in brain, kidney and testis, with very low or no expression in spleen, heart, and muscle. Defects in FGFR3 can result in a number of diseases and abnormalities, ranging from dwarfism to cancers.
